Bridgeport United Methodist Church Information

Bridgeport United Methodist Church seeks to serve God's people beyond the Harrison County community through gifts, talents, and service, demonstrating God's love to the world. Besides providing funding to the West Virginia Conference of the United Methodist Church to be redistributed to global mission needs and programs sponsored by the United Methodist Church, we also help through:World Hunger - Our church offers opportunities each year for children, youth and adults to learn about World Hunger and to support hunger projects in West Virginia and around the world. Missionaries and Mission Projects - Each year our church sends work teams and/or support to various missionaries and mission projects in West Virginia, the United States and abroad. Disaster Relief - Monetary donations and goods are received for the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), our denomination's own relief agency, through special offerings and collections throughout the year. Volunteers In Mission - Many opportunities are provided by this organization to participate in both long term and short term hands-on mission work. As Volunteers In Mission, members of our congregation have traveled to Russia, Mexico, Guatemala, Ireland, and Alaska. These are only a few of the many ways our church helps members become involved in world missions. As needs arise each year, our church finds new ways to respond.
