4 Pines is a proudly Australian brewery born on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, crafting great-tasting beer with purpose, award winning beer, and good times at its core. We’ve come a long way since we first opened our microbrewery in 2008. Our beers have a lot of local love, but we are now enjoyed nationally. Seventeen 4 Pines venues now span up and down the east coast and you can find us in bottle shop fridges and on tap in pubs across the country. Whilst many things have changed, our vision has always been to ‘Brew Better’ and as each year goes on, we’re learning new ways to grow, considering our people, the planet & our community. That’s why we are a B-Corp certified business, proud ‘1% for the Planet’ member and a certified top 50 ‘Great Places to Work Australia’. Despite cranking out a ton of beer (nearly 400 million pints), quality remains the most important thing to us. We make beers we want to drink and that our mates would be proud of. It’s the reason why we’ve been consistently awarded by punters and our peers. All things considered, what we love the most is to see people come together and enjoy our beer. More than just a name, BALTER is the sense of enjoyment you get from doing something you love, just for the thrill of it. The cool thing is this enjoyment can be found anywhere. You could be winning World Tinnie Hurling (a sport we invented: ) titles, or simply feeling triumphant because you’ve navigated the mind bend of putting an IKEA shelf together. Its purest origins can be found at the end of a good day’s work when you sit back, sip on an epic beer and go… aaaah! At Balter, we’re all about celebrating that enjoyment with you, because beer is more than just a drink: it draws tribes together and is a companion to many great moments in life. Our #1 philosophy is that your taste buds come first. A neat can and cool place to hang are great, but if our brews don’t tickle your tongue and put a grin on your head then we haven’t done our job.

Probably. But this poem (and the pretty rad viking-garbed musician who inspired these words) was amusing enough that we named our brewery after it. <br> <br> In 2010 three lads started on the journey to create the boldest and most unique beers in Australia. Brothers Jake and Josh Uljans and school mate Karl van Buuren set up Moon Dog Craft Brewery in a rustic Abbotsford factory in back streets industrial inner-Melbourne, Australia – wedged between the mighty CUB Abbotsford plant and the infamous Duchess brothel. <br> <br> Armed with striking looks, unquestionable charm, immaculate hair and a decent-ish sense of humour, Moon Dog has unleashed a new breed of beer onto the Australian beer-loving public. <br> <br> Blended styles; barrel aging; wild fermentation; weird and wonderful ingredients; high gravity... the beers are style-agnostic and irreverent with a healthy dose of tongue-in-cheek and an attitude that says “Who cares? It’s only beer.”</p>
