BRECKSVILLE WOMENS CLUB INC Information

The Brecksville Women's Club (BWC) has been in existence for 68 years. Founded in 1949, our goal has been to establish and support relationships with each other and our communities and to provide social and philanthropic opportunities for its members. We are a philanthropic organization that raises money to support a number of charitable endeavors. We support two main fundraising events, one held in the fall and the other in spring. The past few years we have had a fall card party social and a spring fashion show luncheon. Each year, upon the recommendation of local school counselors, BWC provides college scholarships to several Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School students and one Cuyahoga Valley Vocational School student. We also present a monetary gift to an outstanding senior girl. Other benevolent activities include donations to Domestic Violence Center, Parma Hospice, Yuletide Hunger Fund, American Cancer Society, the Brecksville Library and others. BWC social activities include "Antiquers", Bridge Groups, "Breakfast-Lunch Bunch" and Motor Coach Tours. Our membership consists of ladies residing in the surrounding southeast and southwest communities of Broadview Heights, North Royalton, Independence, Sagamore Hills, Richfield, Garfield Heights, Seven Hills, Parma, Walton Hills, and Hinckley. Membership totals about 160 ladies, with about 75 attending our monthly meetings. Meetings are held the fourth Tuesday of every month at St. Michael's Woodside, on Mill Road, in Broadview Heights. After a delicious lunch followed by a brief business meeting, an enjoyable program is presented.
