Brand's Suntory overview Brand's Suntory can trace its roots back to 1835, when Henderson William Brand, chef to the British royal family, concocted a special chicken soup to nourish the health of King George IV. That soup became the famous Essence of Chicken health supplement, which remains our signature product today. Essence of Chicken has been manufactured in Taiwan since 1974, when the first factory opened in Chunghwa county. In 2013, BRAND’S became part of the Suntory Group, which invested heavily in manufacturing technology and brought its own 100-year history of innovating new beverage, food and health products, and bringing them successfully to market.
