Brain Support Network (BSN) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the well-being of those challenged by neurological disorders. We have three missions. Because research for a cure of any neurological disorder needs brain tissue, BSN’s first mission is to make brain donation as easy as possible for families in the US that want to donate a loved one’s brain. Most brains are delivered to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, which sponsors neurological research, worldwide. Brain Support Network has helped over 300 families in the US successfully accomplish brain donation. We’d like to help your family, too. BSN’s other two missions are a Northern California Bay Area support group for caregivers, and education of families so we can communicate effectively with our loved ones’ care teams. For these latter missions, we have a special focus on the four atypical Parkinsonian disorders: [1] Dementia with Lewy Bodies / Lewy Body Dementia (DLB/LBD), [2] Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), [3] Multiple System Atrophy (MSA), and [4] Corticobasal Syndrome / Degeneration (CBS/CBD).
