Boyson, Inc. has a footprint in Virgin Islands history. The Boynes family name is widely known and respected throughout the Virgin Islands and the Caribbean islands. On St. John our local Marine terminal is named in honor of the late Captain Loredon Boynes, Sr., who was the leading pioneer in starting the Ferry Services between the islands. With his years of service and wealth of knowledge he created Transportation Services, a company that has been providing ferry services between the islands for more than 40 years. His sons Captain Noel Boynes, Sr. and Captain Loredon Boynes, Jr. were instrumental in carrying on and expanding the industry with the knowledge and experience they gained from their father. Captain Loredon Boynes, Jr. continue to run Transportation Services while Captain Noel Boynes, Sr. expanded the industry to the car ferry/cargo operation. Boyson, Inc. was created by Captain Noel Boynes, Sr., his wife and children in 1973. With the hopes of providing better service for our islands Captain Boynes and his family decided to "Bridge the Gap" between the islands. Over the years the company has grown tremendously and was able to acquire a total of 13 vessels throughout its operations. Currently, the company has 5 vessels in service. Captain Noel Boynes, Sr. and his son Captain James Boynes, Sr. designed 3 of these vessels that are used to operate between the US Virgin Islands, British Virgin Islands and eastern Caribbean Islands. Boyson, Inc. provides an array of services throughout the Caribbean: car ferry service between St. John and St. Thomas, Cargo/Roll on-roll off service, boat rides, services for movies/videos, weddings, private charters, water taxi service, fishing trips etc. The company is currently the only barge transport between St. Thomas and St. John that operates 365 per year. Captain Noel Boynes, Sr., his daughter, sons and grandchildren collectively have over 150 years experience in the marine industry. All of our vessels are clean, safe and US Coast Guard inspected.
