The foundation of our program is established by our 1st Year Apprenticeship Program which paves the way for our 2nd Year Apprenticeship Program or those individuals wanting to extend their botanical, wildcrafting and herbalism education. A Third Year Clinical Internship is available to qualified students. Each year of coursework is comprised of a field program and a lecture series. The field trips are the backbone of our educational curriculum in which you will experientially learn field botany, ecology and wildcrafting techniques, as well as defining your relationship with nature. The lecture series provides the inside classroom environment required for note taking and lecture-based learning. A student can complete this program in two ways. A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to those finishing each year of the field program, which includes a lecture series. We additionally offer a two year lecture only program in herbalism, for those not able to take our fieldwork. Certificates are also issued for completion of the lecture program. In addition to our core curriculum, Columbines School of Botanical Studies offers additional supplemental elective coursework for our Apprentices. They are not required to obtain the First or Second Year Certificates of Completion.
