BookZurman (BZ) helps healthcare organizations solve complex interoperability, data, workflow, and standards challenges. For more than 15 years, BZ has supported the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and other healthcare organizations with healthcare interoperability, clinical informatics, standards strategy, architecture, terminology, clinical decision support, and implementation. Our work spans FHIR, HL7, C-CDA, SMART on FHIR, terminology standards, information modeling, BPM+ Health, clinical workflow, and model-driven architecture. What makes BZ different is that we do not treat interoperability as an interface problem. Successful data exchange is only the beginning. Healthcare information must retain its meaning, remain clinically usable, align with workflow, and operate consistently across systems and organizations. That requires standards, data, architecture, terminology, governance, and business process to work together. BZ has supported national standards development, large-scale federal health programs, EHR interoperability, clinical decision support, referral workflows, medical device interoperability, privacy-preserving machine learning, and standards-based application development. Our teams have worked directly with healthcare standards organizations and federal partners to help translate healthcare requirements into standards and translate those standards back into working implementations. As healthcare moves toward greater use of AI, those fundamentals matter even more. AI depends on reliable identity, high-quality data, consistent semantics, interoperable systems, and well-defined workflows. BZ works at that intersection.
