Our goal at BONDS is to create lasting bonds of friendship and meet your family's needs, ensuring that you and your family always feel welcome, supported and empowered. Our programs are designed with you in mind and are flexible to suit your family's wants and needs. BONDS Autism Centre was founded by Vanessa Lane in response to parent requests to advance social skill development opportunities in the Halton and surrounding regions. Vanessa has been in the field for 12 years and has seen first-hand the waitlists and limited resources available. Vanessa was introduced into the field with an Undergraduate degree in Childhood and Social Institutions and then a graduate certificate in Autism and Behavioural Sciences. She later went on to complete a Master's degree in Applied Disability Studies, specializing in ABA. Vanessa has a passion for working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and recognizes individual and age appropriate needs. BONDS will offer new opportunities, whether they are used as a respite opportunity or to advance social skills. The space is designed to foster social interactions with board games, foosball, air hockey, lego/ building supplies, computers, video games and much more. All in which attend to skills such as sportsmanship, turn taking and conversation surrounding common interests. Children, teens and young adults require a supportive environment to thrive and maximize their potential which BONDS continues to deliver! Staff of BONDS Autism Centre are passionate and enthusiastic individuals. They are friendly and recognize the strengths and needs of those they support. The staff come to BONDS with a variety of educational and practical hands on experience. They are specifically assigned to individual ABA programming/ cases or groups based on their ability to appropriate support them.
