Nord University offers education at bachelor, master and doctoral levels. Each year, new students are admitted to more than 180 study programmes within both professional and theoretical fields. Nord University has approximately 1,200 employees and 12,000 students at study locations in Vesterålen, Bodø, Mo i Rana, Sandnessjøen, Nesna, Namsos, Steinkjer, Levanger and Stjørdal. Through contact with local communities and broad networks within business and industry, Nord University aims to contribute to meeting regional, national and global challenges.

Nordland County Council has responsibility for all important welfare services available for the Nordlanders: high schools, dental services, cultural experiences, as well as bus and boat transport infrastructure. We work together to develop good and exiting jobs for the inhabitants in Nordland. We work internationally with the development of culture and business, and through Nordland Youth Affairs Office we wish to provide our youth with the best opportunities possible. The supreme political body is the County Council with its 53 representatives elected by the inhabitants at the County- and Municipal elections every fourth year. The County Council convenes five times per year to decide on issues crucial to both inhabitants and business. The County Council elects an County Government consisting of five representatives. The County Government has the responsibility for the daily governing of the county on behalf of the County Council, and directs the County Administration.

BODØ er tøffere enn du tror! Bodø er den første byen nord for Polarsirkelen og er med sine 52.005 (per 3. kvartal 2018) innbyggere Nord-Norges nest største. Vi ligger midt i leia langs «verdens vakreste kyst» som vi naturlig beskjedent benevner området mellom Helgeland og Lofoten. Byen ligger åpen og tilgjengelig og vi nordlendinger liker å fremstille både oss og tilværelsen her oppe som offensiv og frisk. Det er et omdømme vi ønsker å leve opp til. Kampanjen «Bodø – i vinden» som har som mål å rekruttere kompetent arbeidskraft for fortsatt vekst og utvikling og samtidig gi nye Bodø-borgere en god og varm velkomst, har de senere år bidratt til å posisjonere Bodø stadig mer synlig. Noe som har gitt oss de varmeste anbefalinger både i nasjonale og internasjonale media som Huffington Post og National Geographic. Bodø er i sannhet en attraktiv hovedstad i nord!
