Advancement Project is a policy, communications and legal action group committed to racial justice founded by a team of veteran civil rights lawyers in 1999. Advancement Project was created to develop and inspire community-based solutions based on the same high quality legal analysis and public education campaigns that produced the landmark civil rights victories of earlier eras. From Advancement Project's inception, we have worked "on-the-ground," helping organized communities of color dismantle and reform the unjust and inequitable policies that undermine the promise of democracy. Simultaneously, we have aggressively sought and seized opportunities to promote this approach to racial and social justice among our colleagues and allies in the organizing, legal, policy, and philanthropic communities.
Our Mission is:
"To develop, encourage, and widely disseminate innovative ideas, and pioneer models that inspire and mobilize a broad national racial justice movement to achieve universal opportunity and a just democracy!"
Keystone Alliance is an ecosystem of nonprofit organizations, services, and initiatives, working together and with the field as a collaborative force to help nonprofits strengthen and sustain their missions.
We were founded in 2009 when Glenkirk and Search360 joined forces to consolidate back office functions into a shared platform and new organizational structure. What began as a strategy to maximize resources has grown into a powerful model of collaboration and thought partnership, one we leverage internally and extend to the field.
Who We Are:
Today, we remain the parent organization of Glenkirk and Search360, two leading nonprofits that share a mission to empower people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Keystone provides their shared governance and operational backbone, enabling them to focus on their missions while benefiting from centralized infrastructure, strategic leadership, and collaborative thought partnership.
What We Do:
We support our founding organizations and the larger nonprofit community through two service offerings:
➤ Keystone Shared Services: Our comprehensive, integrated platform of critical back office functions, including finance, HR, IT, payroll, and compliance.
➤ Mission + Strategy: Our consulting division, a leading thought partner in strategic advising and merger and partnership support.
The Young Leaders Council (YLC) was founded in 1985 by the Council of Community Services, in partnership with the Frist Foundation (formerly the HCA Foundation) and the United Way, to address an emerging and immediate need to broaden and strengthen Nashville’s volunteer leadership base.
YLC’s programming consists of a series of eleven interactive training sessions, which address fundamental board skills. Each session is facilitated by an industry expert and reflects on success indicators such as collaboration, diversity and the role of catalyst deemed crucial for today’s nonprofit leadership roles. The training is followed by the completion of a one-year internship with a nonprofit community organization. During the internship, the YLC participant will serve as a non-voting member of the organization’s working board.
