We offer year around accommodations in a relaxed club like atmosphere. The Surfhouse is located on the edge of Haleiwa town about 100 yards from the ocean along the Anahulu river. We have been in operation since 1997 and rely mainly from word of mouth advertising. We are owner operated and our house is on the property. We have secure parking facilities, but most people walk to the beach, and town is just a few short steps where there are several shops and restaurants. We have a clubhouse where we maintain a clean communal kitchen with stove, fridge and everything you need to prepare a wonderful meal. We also have a barbecue and nice fire pit. We have a cool drink machine with several varieties of drinks for .75 cents each. Our shared restrooms are kept clean at all times and yes we have plenty of hot water thanks to Mr. Sun. All the paths on the property are lit up at night so you can see your way around the property. We have Hut on the river where you can rent Kayaks at a fraction of the going rate at the beach. You can kayak up the river or head out to sea and admire the gigantic sea turtles which are protected or try your luck riding waves. Reservations are highly recommended...Our hours are 11:00 am until 7:00 pm seven days a week.
Giving Access To Water. Hope That Gives Life.
EMPOWERING | SUSTAINABLE | EFFICIENT
Water Access Now's mission is to bring water to villages with the most urgent need. We believe that implementation of practical, sustainable solutions that have demonstrated success coupled with relationships with local partners who share our vision is the most effective way to bring water to over 9 million people in Ghana who lack predictable water.
Community Boating Center’s Mission is to teach positive life values to youth through boating.
At our core, we view ourselves as a community outreach center connecting Greater New Bedford’s youth with mentors to enhance their lives through boating. Our flagship program is our Summer Youth Sailing Program. This program is designed to be a step by step process in character development, by using sailing and boating as a tool to help instill important life lessons in our students, such as the values of integrity, sound judgment, teamwork and environmental awareness. In the Summer of 2017 CBC filled almost 500 spots in our Summer Program with 85% of those spots not paying.
During the Fall, Winter, and Spring, we partner with Greater New Bedford organizations to offer education and enrichment opportunities centered around the marine environment for local youth. Currently these include programs for the New Bedford Public Schools as well as the following New Bedford Area Independent and Charter schools serving similar demographics to those that are served by CBC: Our Sisters' School, Nativity Preparatory School, Global Learning Charter Public School and Alma Del Mar as well as the Boys and Girls Club and the Dennison Memorial Community Center.
