Blyyss Information

Blyyss puts the weekly flyers of Halifax's independent grocers in one free app, and delivers from the shops that sell through it, at the price on the shelf. The Blyyss app carries the flyers of 25 local shops, from butchers and halal counters to South Asian, East Asian, Italian, European and Filipino markets, each one as the shop posted it. Readers tap items on a flyer to build a shopping list, follow the shops they like, and get an alert when a new flyer goes up. The same flyers are on blyyss.ca. Get the app, free, on iPhone and Android: blyyss.ca/app On the web, Blyyss is also an online storefront for two of those grocers. A customer browses the shop's real catalogue, fills a cart, and Blyyss shops it by hand and brings it to their door, or has it ready for pickup. Prices are the shop's own shelf prices, never marked up. The delivery fee is quoted before checkout, the card is held rather than charged at booking, and the order is settled against the store's actual receipt, which the customer sees. Gateway Meat Market (delivery) and Shahi Groceries (delivery and pickup) are live. Blyyss is independent of the shops it serves and is not affiliated with Gateway Meat Market. Blyyss also runs the Resource Map, a directory of food banks, community kitchens and other food resources across Nova Scotia, PEI, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland and Labrador. What we stand on: • Every flyer as the shop posted it. No rebranding, no invented deals. • The shop's own price, every time. Blyyss adds no markup to groceries. • No surprises. You see the most you can be charged before you pay. • Reviews on blyyss.ca are customers' own words, from delivered orders only. Covered by Global News, CTV News, Radio-Canada, The Coast and Country 103.5. Blyyss has worked with the Arthur L. Irving Entrepreneurship Centre at Saint Mary's University. A small team in Halifax.
