BluHeron Interactive Information

BluHeron Interactive is a creative technology studio in Southwestern Ontario building community-engaged and accessible digital experiences. We build and operate beacbeac, an access-first platform that delivers place-based stories to visitors' phones as they approach an artwork, exhibit or stage. No scanning at each stop. Stories come with audio description, artist statements and text-to-speech. beacbeac is co-designed with Blind, Low Vision and Deaf community members, AODA-aligned, and Canadian-made and hosted. Since August 2026, beacbeac has supported exhibits at TAP Centre for Creativity, and in 2026 it also ran at Supercrawl in Hamilton and Nuit Blanche London. It's built for museums, galleries, artist-run centres, festivals, BIAs and libraries. Alongside beacbeac, we take on custom work, from websites for arts organizations to interactive installations. How we work hasn't changed. Arts-based research and public engagement shape every project, guided by honesty, respect, equality, fairness and courage, and the 5 R's: Respect, Relevance, Responsibility, Reciprocity and Relationality. beacbeac is by BluHeron Interactive, with Centre[4]Arts.
