Eagle's Nest Foundation's mission is experiential education for young people promoting the natural world and the betterment of human character. This mission is carried out within Eagle's Nest's three programs. The Outdoor Academy is an academic semester school for tenth grade students. Eagle's Nest Camp is a co-ed residential summer camp. Hante Adventures provides programs for teens in both the wilderness and cultural exchange settings.
The Eagle's Nest Foundation's 180 acre campus is located in Pisgah Forest, NC with a satellite office in Winston-Salem, NC.
Eagle's Nest was founded in 1927 and was chartered as a 501c3 educational non profit organization in 1950. Generations of camper and student families are proud to call themselves alumni of our rich programs.
The Earth Conservation Corps is a nonprofit youth development and environmental organization located along the heavily polluted Anacostia River. Since 1989, ECC has empowered youth through professional development and environmental training while they restore waterways and communities through hands-on service.
Earth Conservation Corps is a signature conservation corps in the nation’s capital and a proud member of The Corps Network, an alliance of 130 conservation corps across the United States working to address climate change, improve the quality of rivers and parks, and foster the conservation leaders of the future.
San Bruno Mountain Watch helps the public learn about and explore San Bruno Mountain’s history and environment, works with local communities to restore the mountain’s native habitats and cultivate its flora at the Mission Blue Nursery, and protects its open space.
The goal of our Stewardship Program is to foster diverse communities of people dedicated to caring for and experiencing the remarkable life of San Bruno Mountain. We craft meaningful restoration activities that encourage the survival of the mountain's endangered butterflies, protect its unique communities of native plants, and connect people to each other and the mountain.
Our Mission Blue Nursery grows native plants sourced from San Bruno Mountain for restoration purposes on the mountain and provides plants for drought-tolerant and locally adapted landscaping projects.
We provide environmental education opportunities and guided hikes to schools and the general public, and actively pursue conservation opportunities to protect and preserve the mountain as public open space.
