The National Development Agency (NDA) as a public entity has been tasked with the responsibility of contributing towards the eradication of poverty in South Africa. The NDA does this by granting funds to CSOs for them to implement development projects and strengthen capacities of CSOs that operate in poor communities.

The National Institute for the Deaf (NID) is a registered Non-Profit Company (NPC) – established in 1881, we have been dedicated to the wellbeing of the Deaf community for well over a century. We care deeply for the Deaf and persons with hearing loss and are passionately driven to ensure that the Deaf get the same opportunities in life as anyone else. We do this by providing the best guidance, work partnerships, rehabilitation, spiritual and social development, as well as offering ongoing support to help them confidently reach their full potential. We believe wholeheartedly that the Deaf community and persons with hearing loss – through consistent support, love and patience – can feel truly empowered. That is why our holistic approach has helped us change thousands of lives over the many years that we have been operational.

The South African National Council for the Blind (Council) is a Non-Government Organisation (NGO) striving to meet the needs of all blind and partially sighted people in South Africa. Our services include rehabilitation, education and training, the provision of assistive devices, social and economic development and programmes promoting the prevention of blindness and the restoration of sight. Council, with its Head Office situated in Pretoria, comprises 95 affiliated member organisations which share Council’s goal of providing services to visually impaired people across South Africa, approximately 90% of whom come from previously disadvantaged groups.
