Our aim is to highlight and promote diversity and we do so in a myriad of ways, including providing a networking platform where professionals can connect and develop, mentor and be mentored as well as showcasing the achievement, talent and contribution made by lawyers of African, Asian, Caribbean and other ethnic minority ancestry in the UK particularly through its ground-breaking Black Letter Law publication. The BLD aim is not to name and shame but to encourage, cajole and ask: “why not?” The organisation was the brainchild of Debo Nwauzu who also founded the BLD Foundation, a charity for the advancement of education of young people of African, Asian, Caribbean and other ethnic minority and those from socially and/or economically under-privileged backgrounds. SERVICES • Publication of the ground-breaking Black Letter Law publication online, in Ebook and print formats. • The BLD Interviews - we have interviewed some of the country's leading lawyers, including Imran Khan, the Stephen Lawrence family lawyer and Sandie Okoro, Global General Counsel, HSBC Asset Management (formerly at Barings). • BLD networks and other social events. • Training and personal development • Mentoring • Career and Talent Management
