BlacktalonSolutions was founded in early 2005 by Sean Mitchell, and is based in Pickering, Ontario, Canada. Blacktalon started out as a general consultancy under the direction of Mr. Mitchell in 2003 after graduating from college, lending his services primarily to large organizations to help with the delivery of quality HR initiatives. In 2005, after receiving the candidacy for the full CHRP designation, and attending a few conferences hosted by the HRPA of Ontario, it was evident that Mr. Mitchell began to see the real issues facing HR. He felt HR was seen as a maligned function within the organization. It was too aligned towards management-based ideals rather than as a neutral people-enabler that it is striving to be. Blacktalon's direction and mission began shifting its focus at that pivotal moment to reinvent and redefine human resources for generations to come. Blacktalon was commissioning the HR 3.0 concept, shifting HR's focus to being more people-focused and acting as a more central, neutral influence that builds organizations on the talents of their people. In 2006, Blacktalon became the sole supplier of quality HR services for a small business services outsourcing company in Durham Region, helping to apply professional HR services to organizations throughout Durham. In 2007, Blacktalon conceptualized the Holistic Corporation, and officially launched later that year on a local radio station in Oshawa, Ontario. In 2008, the HR 3.0 ideology gained ground as Mr. Mitchell earned his full CHRP designation and subsequently became a member of the Board of Directors for the HRPA of Durham. Blacktalon presently operates in Pickering, Ontario, as the number one provider of holistic human resources solutions, the HR 3.0 philosophy and organizational behaviour concepts. Blacktalon is becoming well known in the community through its Think Tank publications and contributions in the local corporate and political environment.
