Our four founding partners: Laurent Bouyoux, Eric May, Bruno Rostain and Paul Mizrahi have worked together as senior executives and entrepreneurs in the financial industry for decades. Altogether the team consists of +35 experienced professionals from several nationalities. Our Buyout strategy invests in financial businesses across continental Europe with high-growth potential via organic growth or acquisitions. BlackFin targets asset-light businesses such as: asset management, institutional and retail brokerage, distribution of insurance and banking products, payments, debt management and collection, fund administration, business process outsourcing, financial technology providers and software editors. Our VC strategy focuses on FinTechs, InsurTechs and RegTechs. BlackFin operates as a controlling investor through majority or minority stakes alongside founders, managers or institutional investors, supporting management teams in taking their businesses to the next level. We transform our portfolio companies via organic growth, improving operating margins and through active buy and build strategies. Transactions have been executed in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Benelux, the Nordics, the Baltics and the UK from our three offices in Paris, Brussels and Frankfurt. BlackFin manages three growth/buyout funds: Fund I (€220m raised in 2011), Fund II (€400m raised in 2016), Fund III (€980m raised in 2019) and a venture fund dedicated to FinTechs, InsureTechs, RegTechs (€180m raised in 2018.
