Black Locust Lumber Information

Twenty-five years ago, black locust was fence posts and firewood. Nobody thought of it as a building material. We did, because we believe the best materials are often the ones already growing in our backyard. So we've spent the last two and a half decades sourcing it from the Appalachian mountains, milling it by hand, and turning it into decking, siding, and custom work for architects, homeowners, and anyone who wants a natural product that actually lasts, and who cares enough to want it sourced the right way. Black locust doesn't need chemicals or coatings to survive outside. It just does, for 50+ years, weathering to a soft silver over time. That's not a trick of engineering. It's a native tree doing what it's always done. We just had the patience to bring it forward.
