BJs Beauty & Barber College (BJBBC) acknowledges that on May 11, 2020, the institutions President signed the U.S. Department of Education Certification and Agreement Form for Emergency Financial Aid grants to Students under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act. BJBBC has used or intends to use, at least 50% of the funds allocated to BJBBC under Section 18004(a) (1) of the CARES Act for the sole and exclusive purpose of providing emergency financial aid grants to students for their expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to coronavirus. The College was allotted $71,761 from the U.S. Department of Education pursuant to the institutions Certification and Agreement for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students. The College was also allotted institutional funds for $71,761 as part of the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund Institutional Grant of the CARES Act. This allotment will be utilized in accordance with the CARES Act guidelines. Initial guidance states that these funds are directed toward costs associated with the significant changes to the delivery of instruction due to the coronavirus. BJBBC awaits further guidance from the Department of Education and the Washington State School College System regarding the allowable methodology for expending this second half of CARES Act funding. As of October 10, 2020, BJBBC received the Institutional Grant portion of the CARES Act for $71,761 which will be utilized in accordance with the CARES Act guidelines toward institutional costs associated with the significant changes to the delivery of instruction due to the coronavirus. As of October 10, 2020, BJBBC has received $71,760 from CARES Act funding and $65,750 distributed to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act.
