BJC architects inc. is a mid-sized architectural firm based in Guelph with over 50 years of experience in developing a wide variety of new architectural projects and renovations for diverse building types & styles throughout Ontario and Canada. BJC offers a complete range of Architectural Services from pre-design and site selection through to post occupancy services. In addition, BJC performs existing building assessments and audits, site planning and selection, building code analysis and facility master planning services. BJC architects inc. was originally established in 1967 as Karl Briestensky Architect. In the following years and with the addition of partners Barry Johnson and Paul Critchley, the firm changed its name to reflect the addition of Barry and Paul to the firm. Briestensky Johnson and Critchley Architects was shortened to BJC architects inc. in 1999. Our approach to architecture embodies the principles of contemporary design as a means to create, modify, and improve spaces through innovative, efficient and aesthetic solutions to our clients' needs. Contextual sensitivity, a clear understanding of technology and materials, as well as a keen awareness of cost and function, are some of our design strengths. We believe it is important to listen to our client and fully understand their objectives and needs to enable us to provide a thoughtful and interesting solution. We want all our projects regardless of their size and cost to be unique, reflect the client's needs, and expectations.
