LWF work is recognized for the quality of its humanitarian emergency response by its partners, including UNHCR and Islamic Relief Worldwide. It serves people in need irrespective of ethnicity, religion or gender. In developing countries, it works to improve livelihoods, education, gender relations and mitigation of climate change.
The LWF is supported financially by churches and other partners, including the United Nations and governments agencies.
The LWF Communion Office comprises staff who are based in Geneva and worldwide. In all, 65 staff members work in this office. In its country programs, the LWF has a workforce comprised of international staff members, national and refugee staff and volunteers, of which over 99% are locals.
