Birmingham Regional Empowerment and Development Center, Inc. (BREAD), Formerly Bethel Community Learning Center was incorporated in December, 2003. The mission and vision of the organization is to equip and empower students and their families for success while instilling and inspiring all participants with courage, confidence and character. We were awarded the Excellence in Extended Day Programming Award by the State of Alabama Department of Education. With this award the agency received recognition as a model program to train area after-school and community based organizations staff to conduct quality after school and summer enrichment programming. Through our childrens programs, we currently partner with seven schools in the surrounding community and provide after school and summer enrichment programs to more than 125 Pre K through Eighth grade students.
