Since 1971, Earthwatch has protected our shared planet, engaging people worldwide in scientific field research and education in order to promote the understanding and action necessary for a sustainable environment. Our vision is a world in which we live within our means and in balance with nature. Our research program involves a global community of researchers, conservation volunteers, NGOs, and businesses, working together towards a sustainable environment. Earthwatch supports about 60 projects across nearly 40 countries, and draws $20 million in annual revenues, with more than 85% of its budget supporting science research and engagement, and going towards programmatic support. For more than 30 years Bird Watcher's Digest has been entertaining and informing its readers with excellent content. Initially this was through the company's flagship bimonthly print magazine of the same name. During the past two decades BWD has "fledged" dozens of additional content channels and modes of communication, including a 14-title series of backyard booklets, several print newsletters, full-length books, a high-traffic website birdwatchersdigest.com, an award-winning digital edition called eBWD, the BirdWire e-newsletter, a popular blog (Bill of the Birds), and podcast with a worldwide audience ("This Birding Life"), as well as wildly popular events such as The Midwest Birding Symposium (www.midwestbirding.org) and target communications for BWD's advertisers and marketing partners, including hosted micro-sites, e-blasts, direct mail, and videos. The elemental difference that sets Bird Watcher's Digest apart is that it is owned and operated by actual bird watchers. This gives BWD a level of connection and insight into not only the subject matter of birds and birding, but into the universe of bird enthusiasts and the industry that has grown up around it. BWD knows birders and bird watching because it's more than just a business—it's a passion. Join the legions of happy subscribers to BWD's publications! Or add your business to our family of marketing partners. We know birds, birding, and bird watchers. We do what we love and we love what we do.
