Engineering Urban Self-Sufficiency Cities have stopped producing. They only consume. Water, energy, food — everything arrives from somewhere else. Every crisis exposes how fragile that model really is. BIOM builds the system that changes it. We develop autonomous urban modules that produce water from air, generate renewable energy and grow food without soil — directly inside the built environment. One integrated system. Intelligently managed. Designed to scale from a single rooftop to entire city districts. This is not a concept study. BIOM grew from eight years of research at the Faculty of Architecture, Brno University of Technology — through a published book, into a patent-protected system, and today into BIOM Module 1: a functioning prototype at BVV Living Lab in Brno, collecting real operational data. We didn't get here alone. Partners like Brno University of Technology, KOMA Modular and Victron Energy believed in the vision early enough to supply materials and technology when there was still nothing to show. Recognised with Tech for Change at VivaTech Paris and among the top 5 SDG projects. What we build: — modules producing water, energy and food in urban space — systems that operate independently of parts of traditional infrastructure — architecture that gives back instead of only taking We're not imagining the future of cities. We're building it.
