Biofusion Brasil is a startup company, established in 2015 and located inside USP (University of São Paulo)/IPEN (Nuclear and Energy Research Institute) incubator. Our main objective is the Research and Development of new additives for fossil fuels, in order to reduce the pollutants emissions (CO, CO2, NOx, SOx, solid particulate and hydrocarbons) and also to increase the energetic efficiency of the fuel plus additive mixture. The background for this initiative was the strange phenomenon we observed during some tests to bring a new product to our local market. A water-in-oil fuel emulsion presented an unexpected increase in the calorific power measured by both SENAI and IPT laboratories. This was the starting point of our research to develop a product, here in Brazil, to achieve both sustainability improvement and energetic gain.
