Biofuel Innovations is a startup story of two university friends, both chemical engineers, who starting brewing biodiesel at the back of an uncle’s garage. In 2016, we designed and built a Biodiesel Plant in Dandenong South to process 2000L batches of used cooking oil from fish and chip shops into biodiesel for local trucking companies. From painting the floor to welding pipes - blood, sweat and tears literally built this company. We are passionate environmentalists and parents who care deeply about our oceans. We are proud Aussies who know how vulnerable Australia is to climate change. Our mission was to transition Australia towards low carbon fuel. We have since expanded this to integrate a broader focus on sustainable fuel and food. Our growing team specialises in a range of disciplines from microbiology to mechatronics engineering. However, sustainable business models are the real bottleneck to implementing the cutting edge technology that we have available. Our focus is on building processes that can be implemented today.
