BIOFIBIX supplies flax fabrics for lightweight composite applications. Established OEMs across automotive, sport & leisure, and construction are increasingly turning to flax for its performance, natural appeal, and sustainability. Yet despite growing interest, mass adoption remains limited due to high costs, excessive resin uptake, and moisture sensitivity. BIOFIBIX addresses these barriers through a unique fiber treatment, a cost‑effective production process, and a fully controlled flax supply chain. BIOFIBIX is a spin-off from KU Leuven, where both the fiber treatment and cost-efficient manufacturing process were developed. Supported by shareholder Vanacker Rumbeke, a third-generation flax grower and scutcher in Belgium’s traditional flax region, BIOFIBIX oversees the entire supply chain from field to reinforcement, ensuring consistent quality and price stability.
