Bioextrax develops solutions for scalable and cost-efficient production of biobased and biodegradable materials. We provide patented biosolutions for converting renewable resources into high value materials, supporting the transition to a circular economy. Our patented process enables efficient extraction of PHA granules (polyhydroxyalkanoates), which is a biobased and biodegradable plastic alternative made by microbes. PHAs are a family of bioplastics that can reduce the spread of microplastics and replace a wide range of fossil-based plastics. We also upcycle poultry feather waste into highly digestible protein hydrolysates for animal feed, creating value from an underutilised side stream in the poultry industry. In addition, we also extract keratin microfibers from the feathers which can be used in composites, insulation, filtration and textiles. We provide scalable solutions, made by microbes.
