BioEnGene Information

BioEnGene is a student-led research group at IIT Kharagpur working at the intersection of biology, engineering, and computational sciences. Open to students from all disciplines, we pursue interdisciplinary projects that integrate synthetic biology, genetic engineering, bioinformatics, and systems design with concepts from diverse fields across science, engineering, and the humanities. Our work spans computational modelling to wet-lab validation, with a focus on creating practical, scalable solutions for real-world challenges in domains ranging from healthcare and environment to agriculture, manufacturing, energy, and beyond, while fostering hands-on learning, collaboration, and scientific creativity.
