Big Brain Maths Information

Big Brain Maths provides effective intervention to improve schools maths results by inspiring students to love and learn maths. We have over 600 dynamic and engaging video lessons, giving students 24/7 access to an expert teacher. Lessons support classwork, homework or exam revision, and can be used to provide effective teaching and learning in times of student and staff absence. Our lessons are not revision PowerPoint’s with voiceovers but instead engaging bite sized videos that fully teach each topic. Lessons cover calculator and non –calculator methods, popular exam questions and shows the common mistakes that students always make. To engage and inspire students we use unique real life examples. Our teacher may be jumping out of planes or swimming with sharks, but not every lesson is that extreme. Our teacher could be in Egypt teaching the volume of a pyramid or simply cutting up cakes in his kitchen to demonstrate the cross sectional area of a prism. Our simple navigation system is completely unique. By clicking the lesson information icon students can find out what examples will be covered and what skills they need in order to complete that lesson and if they don’t have those skills it tells them what other lessons they need to watch. Through feedback from schools and teachers we are constantly developing the website and have recently introduced the ability to track students activity on the site as well as many other features.
