BHK Engineering, D.P.C. is a consulting engineering firm continuing the work of Joseph K. Blum Company, a firm with over 80 years of experience. Our expertise includes building maintenance, facade design and repair, structural design, and mechanical system projects. Our combined experience includes overseeing thousands of projects at residential and commercial buildings and houses of worship in New York City. Our firm is available to evaluate facades, windows, roofing, and storm drainage systems of historic buildings for deficiencies, and determine how to restore and preserve the structure. This process is specific to each property and requires careful evaluation of the materials and methods used to construct the original building. If required, our firm will work with the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission to preserve the contributing features of historic properties. We are familiar with the guidelines of the Commission and handle all project filing and correspondence for the property Owner.
