The department store was established in 1994 as Seiyu Wing On Department Store under a joint venture between Seiyu, Ltd (Japan) and Wing On Pte Ltd (Hong Kong). In 2001, it became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Seiyu, Ltd (Japan) and grew to become an established name in Singapore. Today, it is a partner of Beijing Hualian Group and operates under the brand name BHG.
