Çimsa, a subsidiary of Sabancı Holding, was founded in Mersin in 1972. Today, the company operates three integrated production plants in Türkiye, located in Mersin, Eskişehir, and Afyon. In addition to producing gray cement, Çimsa leads the Turkish cement and building materials sector in innovation, offering value added products such as white cement and CAC. Çimsa, one of the world's foremost brands in white cement and one of the world's top three producers of CAC with the latest investment completed in Mersin, manages its global operations through Cimsa Building Solutions BV, leveraging its production expertise and the financial strength of its principal shareholder, Sabancı Holding. Cimsa Building Solutions BV has emerged as a key player in the international white cement market, with a white cement production plant in Valencia, Spain, a grinding plant in Houston, USA, and terminals in Hamburg, Germany, Trieste, Italy, and Seville, Spain. Further expanding its global footprint, Cimsa Building Solutions BV acquired Ireland-based Mannok Holdings in October 2024. Çimsa, which develops new technologies that shed light on the future of the building materials industry in Türkiye through its first R&D Center, Formülhane—approved by the Ministry of Industry and Technology—operates at the Mersin Plant, the only integrated facility in the world capable of producing gray cement, white cement, and calcium aluminate cement; has at the same time extended its innovation power to Europe through the Sabancı Technology Center located on the campus of the Technical University of Munich. SASA, polyester, elyaf, filament iplik, polyester bazlı polimerler, özel polimerler ve ara ürünlerde dünyanın önde gelen üreticilerinden biridir. Sektöründeki liderlik sorumluluğu ile, güçlü teknik mirasını ve inovasyon kültürünü yüksek üretim kapasitesi ile harmanlayan SASA, tasarımdan, üretim ve dağıtım aşamalarına kadar tüm süreci başarıyla yönetir. Polyester sektöründeki üretimine 1966 yılında başlayan SASA, kuruluşundan bugüne, aralıksız yatırımlarıyla hızlı büyüme sürecini hep sürdürdü.SASA, polyester sektöründeki öncülüğünü sürdürmek ve bu konumunu daha da güçlendirmek amacıyla 2000 yılında dünya kimya devi Dupont ile joint-venture tarzı ortaklık kurdu ve DupontSA adını aldı. Sabancı Holding’in, 2004 yılında Dupont hisselerini satın almasıyla, DupontSA ismi, ADVANSA olarak değiştirildi. Grubun Türkiye organizasyonun adı da 2005 yılında ADVANSA SASA Polyester Sanayi A.Ş. oldu.2011 yılında ise Sabancı Holding, ADVANSA BV’ye ait tüm hisseleri satın aldı ve Eylül 2011’de ADVANSA SASA olan adını SASA olarak değiştirdi. 30 Nisan 2015 itibariyle, Sabancı Holding hisseleri ERDEMOĞLU Holding tarafından satın alınarak, ortaklık yapısı % 51 ERDEMOĞLU Holding, % 49 halka arz edilmiş hale gelmiş oldu. 2015 yılı Ağustos ayında tamamlanan zorunlu pay alım süreci sonunda, ERDEMOĞLU Holding A.Ş.’nin SASA Polyester Sanayi A.Ş.’de sahip olduğu hisse oranı %84,80’e ulaşmıştır. Bünyesinde Nobel, ICI ve Dupont teknolojilerini barındıran SASA, 4 bin 300’ü aşkın nitelikli çalışanı, yüksek kapasiteli öncü üretim tesisleri ve 2002 yılında kurulan Araştırma Geliştirme Merkezi ile güçlü bir teknik altyapıya sahiptir. SASA’nın, Adana’da, entegre üretim tesislerinin yer aldığı 2.181.000 m² alan üzerinde kurulu merkez işyeri, İskenderun’da 55.625 m² kendi hammadde depolama tesisi, İstanbul ve Ankara’da da irtibat büroları bulunmaktadır.
