BestEV Information

"BestEV" is China's first electric vehicle evaluation platform that is based on the combination of scientific indicators and driver-reported real-world driving experience. BestEV is a transparent, independent, real-world open-source of data relevant for evaluating EV performance, designed to advance China’s high-quality EV market primarily through interaction with EV users and potential buyers. An expert committee comprised of over 30 national and global respected figures advise the BestEV’s evaluation methodology, and 9 coalition members from the new media, EV service and EV data research circles advance the BestEV platform exposure to every current and potential EV household in China. BestEV is funded by non-profit foundations as part of their effort to improve China’s air quality, primarily Energy Foundation China. iCET, an independent think tank, is overseeing the BestEV platform development and data analysis. The methodology of the current BestEV version (v1.0) includes 13 quantitative and 12 qualitative indicators, comprising a final score that derives from all the indicators yet with particular weighting for each. Among the quantitative indicators, 9 are based on official manufacturer announcements while 4 are based on EV owner actual experience. Among qualitative indicators, 3 require long-term driving experience so only EV owners can fill them in. The BestEV (v1.0) evaluation score is therefore based primarily on EV owner inputs with complimentary information provided by EV test-drivers/riders.
