Bernie Wales is a Residential Property Manager with over 30 years' experience as a successful entrepreneur. He focuses mainly on Leasehold Property Management and Investment - and has founded, built and sold several companies. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors, a founding Fellow of the Institute of Residential Property Management, and an Associate of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Having started his career at Sainsburys, he soon transferred into the world of property and by 1980 was responsible for a portfolio of 500+ tenancies in London, together with around 50 commercial investment properties throughout the UK. our years later he struck out on his own, forming Crabtree Property Management Limited, building up a portfolio of 9,000+ residential units over 18 years as Managing Director. He sold Crabtree in 2002 to four of his staff. Two more companies followed - Quite Ltd focused on the acquisition of freehold blocks of flats and commercial properties, ground rent and buildings insurance management. Bruton Kiff Ltd provided residential property management and consultancy services for Residents' Associations and property professionals. His current company - BW Residential Property Consultancy Ltd provides services in two main areas; leasehold management ... and investment consultancy. The management side covers property management, right to enfranchise and right to manage, leasehold valuation tribunal management (Bernie is a LVT appointed Manager), freehold ground rent portfolio management, company secretary services and commonhold services to residents and leaseholders in purpose built and converted blocks of flats. The investment side covers hands-on services for Buy To Let investors, property sourcing and management - with an emphasis on leasehold flats and HMOs. Bernie also provides training workshops, seminars, courses, coaching and mentoring programmes for property professionals.
