BMA aims to make a meaningful contribution to local architecture through a continuous assimilation of past, present and future developments in the nation’s varied cultural heritage, establishing a building vocabulary that is essentially of Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean. An architectural vocabulary that pays particular attention to the dictates of the local climate both in design and choice of building materials. The practice has developed a strong reputation for design and cost effectiveness tailored to suit each client’s budgetary constraints. Emphasis is placed on effective cost control during all stages of the project but especially during the construction stage, when variations in design and / or specifications may be required in response to unforeseeable circumstances. The majority of the projects undertaken by the practice have been for the University of the West Indies.
