Berlingske Lokalaviser (Local Newspapers), in its life has expanded dramatically. From the beginning in 1971, it fast comprised 10 local newspapers, and today the company operates 32 local newspapers, nine in Jutland and the rest in Zealand. Berlingske Lokalaviser are behind almost all of the 1 million weekly newspapers that comes in through the letter slot in Danish households. Today more than 85% of all Danes read at least one of the Berlingske Lokalaviser. Berlingske Local Newspapers in the 1990s bought 50% af the shares in Dansk Distributions Center A/S (DDC), which today is one of Denmark's largest distributors. Berlingske Local Newspapers is a well consolidated company and in 2005 had an annual turnover of approx. 470 million. dkkr and employs approx. 300. Berlingske Lokalaviser is a part of the Berlingske Media group (formerly Det Berlingske Officin).
