Established in 1929 by Sunset Magazine's creative director, Richard S. Stephens, Academy of Art University transforms aspiring students into professional artists & designers. He believed that aspiring artists, with proper instruction, hard work & dedication, could learn the skills needed to become professionals. He also believed students should be accepted into an art institution regardless of an art portfolio, and most importantly, an art education should be provided by professional artists. Academy of Art University fosters innovation through a faculty of current industry professionals, state-of-the-art facilities & curriculum in several areas of study. Graduates have been hired by companies like: Apple, EA, Nike, Pixar, Zynga & more. Through the dedication of current President Dr. Elisa Stephens & Chairman Emeritus Richard A. Since its founding in 1984, the Contemporary Jewish Museum (CJM) has distinguished itself as a welcoming place where visitors can connect with one another through dialogue and shared experiences with the arts. Ever changing, the CJM is a non-collecting institution that partners with national and international cultural institutions to present exhibitions that are both timely and relevant and represent the highest level of artistic achievement and scholarship. The CJM makes the diversity of the Jewish experience relevant for a twenty-first century audience. We accomplish this through innovative exhibitions and programs that educate, challenge, and inspire.

Creativity Explored is a studio-based collective in San Francisco that partners with people with developmental disabilities to celebrate and nurture the creative potential in all of us. Founded in 1983 by a psychologist and an artist, CE has facilitated the careers of hundreds of disabled artists and serves as a model in the field of art and disability worldwide. We believe art is essential to life. We exist to provide people with developmental disabilities access to the human right of creative expression. Creativity Explored now serves 130 artists with developmental disabilities offering art supplies, training, exhibition and sales opportunities in traditional and digital media. CE artists have seen their work exhibited in museums, galleries, and art fairs in over 14 countries and have earned over $2 million from their art. Our life-changing programs continue to open doors of inclusion to center the personhood and creative vision of people with developmental disabilities. Most importantly, Creativity Explored is a source of community, empowerment and dignity. At CE, we believe in a future society with an enlightened understanding of its relationship with neuro-diverse people—one that has evolved from one-way support to mutually-enriching growth and authentic appreciation of all people’s creative contributions. CE continues to center the personhood and agency of our artists in all our efforts, asking, “What is important to you?” We will continue to innovate to provide safe and virtual services that enrich the lives of our artists, their families and supporters, on their terms. Our dedicated staff, board, and volunteers are also expanding our commitment to racial justice and disability advocacy by amplifying the voices of studio artists of color and artists who are immigrants.
