Beletrina Information

Beletrina has been one of the most ambitious Slovenian publishing houses ever since its foundation. It offers a distinguished literary and humanistic book program and prides itself on both publishing literary classics as well as recognizing the most penetrating contemporary literary voices. Beletrina is not just a publishing house on paper, but also intensively intervenes in everyday life and strives to keep literature alive among people. This is being accomplished mainly through two bigger literary festivals, the World Literature Festival - Fabula and Days of Poetry and Wine Festival. In addition to live literary streaming, literature in the digital world is also important. For more than a decade, we have been taking care of the cultural portal AirBeletrina, which is today the most read cultural media in Slovenia. We are also working towards digital accessibility of books. With our project Biblos we have already converted more than 6,000 titles into e-books, and the number is growing day by day. Beletrina is also successful in acquiring international projects, one of which is the poetry platform Versopolis, which helps the best young poets gain international recognition. We are working on many other Slovenian and European projects that you can find on Beletrina's website. Beletrina is not just a publishing house, it is a living organism: we create books and everything related to them with love, dedication and desire to reach and enrich the lives of as many people as possible.
