Beginning with Children Information

Beginning with Children was founded on a deep belief in the power of education to transform a child, a family, a community. For more than 35 years in Brooklyn, we have worked to give every child an equal chance to be well educated in a free public school with excellent resources, from Pre-K through college and into meaningful careers. Through our public charter schools and the Legacy Network, we provide academic enrichment, mentoring, college and career advising, paid internships, and alumni support, connecting learning to worlds beyond the classroom. Through our Board Fellowship, alumni and community members gain hands-on nonprofit governance experience as they build their own paths as leaders. From the classroom to college, career and community leadership, we are building pathways for long-term success.
