February 2013 Bedaro has recently completed another project at Macclesfield District General Hospital. The fit out of a 4100 ft2 Grade II listed building into CAT B office space involved the team successfully workingin a busy live environment and in liaison with a number of key hospital and consultancy representatives. The extensive scope of works included maximising the use of existing structural features, such as the timber beams to create modern, light office accommodation. At basement level, two new light wells were created in the basement to bring additional light and ventilation into the space and cellular offices were formed along with open plan areas. At the ground floor level and to take advantage of the height of the roof space, a new mezzanine floor was constructed to add additional floor space. Cellular offices and open plan areas were formed with new suspended ceilings fitted. New toilet and kitchen areas were introduced on both floors. Throughout the property, new power, lighting, fire alarm, intruder and CAT 5e data systems were installed and the Bedaro team resolved an inherent damp problem by integrating a tanking system to all the walls and floor.
