Accessible short-term rentals exist. The challenge is finding them, understanding their accessibility features, and knowing whether they meet a traveler's individual needs. Becoming rentABLE is helping change that. As a leader in accessible short-term rentals, Becoming rentABLE is bridging the gap between travelers with disabilities and the short-term rental industry by identifying, assessing, and verifying accessibility features in short-term rental properties that may already exist but remain undiscovered. Founded by Lorraine Woodward, whose personal experiences traveling with two sons with muscular dystrophy revealed the challenges of finding accessible accommodations, Becoming rentABLE was built on a simple belief: travelers deserve reliable, detailed accessibility information to make informed decisions about where they stay. Today, we work with property owners, managers, destinations, and tourism organizations to uncover existing accessible inventory, improve the visibility of accessible accommodations, and connect properties with travelers seeking places that meet their individual needs. Through our accessibility assessments, verification process, and specialized online platform, we are helping establish greater transparency, build trust, and advance accessibility across the short-term rental industry. Our vision extends beyond helping travelers find a place to stay. We are working to make accessibility a recognized, understood, and essential part of the short-term rental industry—creating more opportunities for everyone to travel with confidence.
