Beck Engineering, Inc. has been performing cutting-edge contract R&D for government and corporate clients since 1996. Two things set us apart: 1. Our Expertise is Extremely Broad. We have expertise in a broad range of technologies, from machine tools, to control systems, to power-generation and refrigeration systems, to cryogenic equipment and other thermo-fluidic devices. In addition, we have the required expertise to secure funding and manage resulting contracts to develop technologies. We have been highly successful in the U.S. Government Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program: we have performed twenty SBIR contracts (sixteen Phase I SBIR contracts and four Phase II SBIR contracts). 2. We Perform All R&D In-House. We perform all steps of the R&D process in-house to minimize development time and costs and to produce a better final product. We typically start with our client's need (or needs) and develop a prototype product that meets our client's need(s) and can be produced in volume. We perform all R&D steps in-house, from concept development, to breadboard and prototype fabrication and testing, to volume production. Our holistic approach to R&D allows us to avoid problems other companies experience. For example, even the most-experienced aerospace companies encounter problems when design features that cannot be manufactured are discovered late in the development process. On the other hand, we avoid the problems because we consider how we will manufacture the product (in-house) during concept development (in-house).
