Of the 100 people that are diagnosed with bowel cancer every day, almost half will die from the disease. However, in over 90% of cases, bowel cancer could be treated successfully if diagnosed early, which is why it is so important to be aware of the symptoms. Beating Bowel Cancer is a national charity for those affected by bowel cancer. We are dedicated to raising awareness of the symptoms to promote early diagnosis and ultimately save lives from this disease. Beating Bowel Cancer provides essential support services to bowel cancer patients and their families via a confidential nurse helpline giving telephone and email support, a national patient-to-patient support group, web forum and an unparalleled range of patient information booklets and factsheets for patients and healthcare professionals. The charity is accredited by the Information Standard, a certification scheme for health and social care information, supported by the Department of Health. We are the leading voice in bowel cancer to ensure the patients’ perspective is always heard, and campaign for open access to treatment for all bowel cancer patients.
