Bearfoot Ranch was established in 1997 by Darrith Russell, Melanie Vaughan and Edie Ahola. Although our web site and facebook page may be new, we have had horses together for over 30 years. Ginger Smith and Rachelle Dunn joined the group in 2009. Recently we served as a host farm to a therapy group and were inspired to work on our own certification. Currently, Edie has earned her PATH certification. PATH (Professions Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship) promotes equine-assisted activities and therapies for people with special needs. Bearfoot Ranch services are available to children and all people with special needs, regardless of ability. Bearfoot Ranch is also a horse rescue facility. We work closely with local authorities to rescue and rehabilitate horses that have been abused or neglected.
