Our network of generous donors, volunteers and employees share a mission of preventing and relieving suffering, here at home and around the world. We roll up our sleeves and donate time, money and blood. We learn or teach life-saving skills so our communities can be better prepared when the need arises. We do this every day because the Red Cross is needed - every day.

At Cal Poly Humboldt, bold hearts and open minds shape the future. Founded in 1913, Cal Poly Humboldt began as a small college for teachers. Today Humboldt has grown into a comprehensive university with rigorous science and liberal arts programs. AVERT stands for Active Violence Emergency Response Training. AVERT prepares your organization to respond to active violence and goes beyond active shooter response training with lessons in emergency bleeding control. Created for the general public by experts in both law enforcement and medicine, AVERT’s active approach to learning will have a positive impact on your team’s level of emergency training and preparedness.
