BD_Collective Information

BD Collective is a local infrastructure organisation that works to strengthen and develop Barking & Dagenham’s Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector. We're a member-led organisation, a co-operative CIC led by and accountable to its wider membership. Each of our members is an organisation working within the VCFSE community. We believe that one of our local sector’s unique strengths is that the majority of organisations are resident-led and exist within the communities they serve. This means that we are guided in a very true sense by the wider communities of Barking & Dagenham, advocating for their concerns as represented by the organisations that support them, and platforming those voices in our interactions with statutory organisations, funders, and the wider sector. We aim at all times to model transparency, accountability, and democracy; demonstrating these values through our behaviour and expecting the same from those around us. We believe that through adopting these values, we can align not just as a sector, but as a borough. Through working together to face the challenges we all share, we can not only overcome, but can thrive, reshaping the way we work to lift everyone up. We can spread this knowledge outside the borough, sharing what we’ve learned with others facing similar challenges. The principles that this approach is built around are Connect, Collaborate, and Change. We connect with those around us, building strong relationships founded on shared values. We collaborate with each other to make the most of our strengths and counter our vulnerabilities. Through this, we work together to make lasting changes that help everyone.
