Bayan Muna was established in 1999 to fill the need for a genuine alternative political party in the Philippine parliamentary arena. Our aim is to push the people's agenda for basic reforms based on the politics of people empowerment and social change. Our method is through the "Politics of Change" that ensures the people's representation and participation in all levels of governance, veering away from the traditional system of personalities and patronage that have dominated Philippine politics for decades.
